In South Dakota, state law places subdivision surveying inside the practice of land surveying (SDCL 36-18A-4). And by law, no survey of land or plat of a subdivision is legal unless a registered land surveyor makes it (SDCL 43-18-1). The drone helps the team ask better questions. The registered land surveyor gives the answers that count.
